Len Day – Director

Len has had nearly three decades of involvement in the real estate industry, being both an agent and business owner. Having owned Austar Realty for 12 years Len has used his skills, passion and drive to assist his staff to reach their professional and personal potentials and quadruple his business. The last five years has seen Austar Reality grow significantly, increasing his team from 16 members to 70, now based across seven offices.
Creating Austar Financial Services Limited has enabled him to further help his clients achieve their property dreams by offering professional advice surrounding mortgages and create financial security through risk advice. Highly qualified, Len is a Licensed Real Estate Agent and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma in Education. In his personal time, Len enjoys travel, golf, cycling and rugby league.
Greg Barratt – Head of Distribution and Sales

Greg has served New Zealand for over a decade in the Military, and it was not until 1998 when he became involved with the Insurance Industry.
Greg played an entrepreneurial part in the creation of Austar Financial Services and today oversees the Sales and Distribution elements of the company. Enjoying the outdoors, Greg spends his spare time playing golf, trail bike riding and in the garden growing trees and shrubs. His interests also include animal husbandry and traveling the world. Greg is happily married to his wife Paula and has three kids.

I joined the insurance industry in 1996, and are a director/shareholder with Insurance and Mortgage People Limited, as well as a director and shareholder of Austar Financial Services Limited.
I am a Registered Financial Adviser providing advice on Personal and Business Risk Insurance. I also hold various directorships and have had an extensive corporate background in Insurance, where I have held senior management roles in both sales and operations so have the knowledge, understanding and expertise in focusing on getting the best outcome for my clients and assisting my clients through the claims process. I hold a Diploma in Marketing, which was completed through AUT.

Alex started working in the insurance industry when she first arrived in New Zealand 11 years ago, but had previously experienced how beneficial it was to have the right cover in place when her father got sick in the UK.
It struck a deep chord and when offered a job working as a PA to an adviser she really saw an opportunity to help others, like her family had been helped. The rest they say, is history. A mother of two active boys and also two four-legged children as well, so there is never a dull moment.

I also have a unique specialisation in the Health Sector – I’m the only broker that works full time in this field – which ensures I provide true value to the industry.
